According to Permelia Griffing (Beriah's sister), "The next death was a brother, Beriah Redfield [Griffing], 18 years old whowa s taken sick in the field and brought to the house, died in two hours withinf lamation of the bowels (probably appendicitis). I remember afterwards when a nyone came to see us after that, my mother would always have to tell whata wonderful dream she had, and she would tell it and cry she could hardly talk it made her cry so."
