They may have gone to Woodbury, Conn., but did go to Claremont, Cheshire Co., N. H. On 20 May 1772, Benjamin registered his earmark, a slit on the top of the right ear, at Claremont. in 1776 Benjamin and Benjamin Jr. signed the Association Test at Claremont, N. H. He was a landowner there, mentioned as an abutter in a deed dated 28 Sept. 1778. However, no probate or deeds for him have been found in Cheshire Co. recods."
