Benjamin Towner, b. say 1721; … On 24 Nov. 1747, Benjamin's father gave his several pieces of land, one where 'Benjamin Junr now dwells with his family at Heganum. They may have gone to Woodbury, Conn., but did go to Claremont, Cheshire Co., N. H. On 20 May 1772, Benjamin registered his earmark, a slit on the top of the right ear, at Claremont. in 1776 Benjamin and Benjamin Jr. signed the Association Test at Claremont, N. H. He was a landowner there, mentioned as an abutter in a deed dated 28 Sept. 1778. However, no probate or deeds for him have been found in Cheshire Co. recods."
