He enlisted for five years and was in the service at the end of the war. He was in the battles ofBrandywine at the storming of Stony Point the Defeat of Piola he was under General Wayne?Washington? in all the mentioned engagements. She thinks he was in the Battle of Monmouth. He was a sargent part of the time, stationed at ValleyForge and White Planes. He marched through the coutny of Newyork (Newark?) New Jersey. She believes it was in the 8th or 9th regiments.
