At the home of his son, J. L. Shaw, in Freedom, Minn., April 25, 1884, Benjamin Shaw, in the 83d year of his age. He was born in Stephentown, N. Y., 1802, professed faith in Christ in early manhood and has ever since lived an earnest sincere Christian, especially noted for perfect honesty and rectitude in all his intercourse with his fellow men. Three years ago he received a partial stroke of paralysis, since which time his reason has been very much clouded, and his life one continued season of suffering. He leaves a wife, two sons in Wisconsin, one in Minnesota, and a daughter in Dakota. His funeral was held at the residence of his son.
