In Brooklyn, N. Y., suddenly, May 3d, 1874, Benjamin F. Rogers. Bro. Rogers was born in Waterford, Conn., September 1795, consequently was in the 79th year of his age. He was the son of Eld. Lester and Polly Tuthill Rogers, and the eldest of twelve children. He embraced religion in early life, and united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church in Waterford, was a member for many years, but his business connection and associations with those who observe a different day as their Sabbath let him to conform to he almost prevalent sentiment of Sabbath degeneracy. But in the later years of his life he was restored and consistent member of the church of his early connection, and took much pleasure in communicating with the church of his first choice. He died in the full assurance of a blessed immortality. His remains were taken to Westerly, R. I., and deposited in the River Bend Cemetery.
