Now there was an old Benjamin Ishmael who died in KY in 1822. He too was awarded a land grant in TN for service in the Rev War from NC. He had two brothers, one who died in a British prison, I suppose after he was captured. The other brother was named Thomas and the Ishmael researchers no anyone else seems to know anything about him, where he went or what happened to him...Thomas Ishmael was awarded an identical parcel of land for service in the Rev War from NC. Thomas Essman sold that parcel of land four years later. I did some serious checking on the map and ...there was not much way that there could have been two parcels of land that butted up to John Francisco's land. ...Well, we know where one Thomas was, according to the Greene Co., TN records.
