    DEACON BENJAMIN HICKOK, son of Serg. Samuel; born about 1686; died in Wilton, 17 November 1745, age 59 years (tombstone at Wilton)...He chose John Hopkins for his guardian. He was in Stamford, Conn., 1715. On 14 February 1732 was appointed first deacon of Wilton Church. In 1728 was a member of the Hartford General Assembly; was justice of the peace for Fairfield County 1736-1745.
    His will of 17 June 1745; proved 29 November 1745.
