    Died at his residence in Franklinton, Oct. 16, 1913, Mr. B. F. [sic] Fisher Sr., aged 85 years, six months and two days. He was born and partly reared in Miss. When about twelve years of age, he moved with his parents, John and Stacy Fisher, to Louisiana. When a young man he married Miss Mary Magee, a sister to the late Z. T. Magee. There were born unto them five sons and two daughters: B. T. Fisher Jr., J. M. Fisher, G.W. Fisher, Dr. W. L. Fisher, M.F. Fisher and Mrs. W.P. Knight and Mrs. W.E. Douglas. J.M., G.W., and Mrs. Knight died several years ago. his wife died also, when M.F. was an infant. He remained a widower for many years, and about 29 years ago he married Mrs. Lizzie Simmons, the widow of Mr. T.J. Simmons, the father of our present Sheriff. Mr. Fisher was a good farmer, having farmed altogether for a living. Many years ago he joined the Baptist church at Springfield, Later he drew a letter of dismission and joined at Franklinton. Mr. Fisher was a good, quiet, unassuming citizen and Christian gentleman. He was buried in Oct. 17th in the family graveyard. The funeral service as conducted by his former Pastor, C.T. Corkern, assisted by Revs. L.W. Sloan and W.A. Nunnery. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints.
