  3.   Benjamin appears to be in Wilmot for the 1850 census with a wife Mehitable (who possibly died as she does not appear in following records); in California by 1868; settling soon in Colusa County, California (family 56 in 1870 with Silas Shirley, apparently the brother of Daniel Shirley who married Benjamin's niece Julia Chickering per 1860 census); still there in 1892, but apparently not to be found in 1900 census.
