Benjamin's obituary reads, "Benjamin B. Anderson. New Haven -- 1916-1998. Benjamin B. Anderson, 82, of New Haven, a World War II Army veteran, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at Parkview Hospital. The Allen County native retired in 1982 from Guardian Industries as a route driver after 12 years, was a former New Haven City Council member, member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, American Legion Post 330 and Howard Bandelier VFW Post 2457. Surviving are his wife, Lois; sons Michael, Patrick, Mark and Rodney, all of New Haven, and Gregory and Matthew, both of Fort Wayne; daughters Jackie Miller, Lorrie Sordelet and Monica Meyers, all of New Haven; brothers Maurice of New Haven, Richard of Fort Wayne and Harry of Antwerp, Ohio; sisters Thelma Townsend of New Haven, Hilda Gerardot of New Haven and Nancy Myers of Albuquerque, N. M.; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Prayer services at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana 930 E., New Haven, precede Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1013 Powers St., New Haven. Calling is from 1 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. today with an 8:30 p.m. rosary service and a 7:30 p.m. VFW service at the funeral home. Burial will military graveside services will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, New Haven. Memorials are to St. John Catholic School in New Haven."
