    "Benajah Tracy, son of Nathaniel Tracy … was born at Preston, Connecticut, July 21, 1710. He was a soldier in the French and Indian war in Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Coit’s company of Preston, in the Second Regiment under Colonel Nathan Whiting, serving from April 10 to November 30, 1758. (See Conn. Hist. Society French and Indian War Rolls, vol. II, p. 34) [had to be the son; the elder Benajah's wife was a widow when daughter Hannah was baptized in 1742."
