Thanksgiving morning, just before the break of day, our good friend and neighbor, Mrs. William W. Scott, fell asleep in Jesus only to awake on the resurrection morning. It was ours to know this estimable lady and share the hospitality of her home. The neighborhood loses by this sad incident a kind friend and good neighbor. Balidad (sic) P., daughter of Isaiah and Elizabeth Huff, was born in Saline Co., Mo., Feb. 19, 1834, and died in Republic county (sic), Kansas, November 27, 1902. She was united in marriage to William W. Scott, January 25, 1855. To this happy union were born three children, Margaret E., Robert P. and William W. Robert B. is the only surviving child. She survived her husband only four months and twenty-six days. The deceased united with the Baptist church in Saline county (sic), Missouri, in her early life and until the last of her earthly pilgrimage maintained an unfaltering faith in Christ. The funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Hough, of this city. She was laid to rest in the Rose Mound cemetery (sic), last Friday.
