    Died Feb 23, 1914 at Victoria, BC, Mr Bartholemew Stapledon, n/o Chatham, NB. Born 1847, and came to Victoria from QC in 1883. He was one of the pioneer canners of the Pacific coast. Until 5 yrs ago he lived at Kings rd, he then moved, with his daughter, Mrs Rudge, to Pt Essington, but returned last fall.

    He married Miss Jane Skillen, of QC, who survives him, in addition to 4 daughters and 2 sons. The eldest son John, resides at Victoria, Bert at Seattle. Mrs Rudge and Mrs Barryman live at Essington, Mrs R G Johnson at Inverness, while Mrs Glendon Moody and Mrs Dan Chesman live at Vancouver. Ph/Feb 23, 3.
