"1. Bartholomew Sears¹ was appointed viewer and sealer of wood for South End Wharves, Boston, 1726, and dismissed 1728. He m. Elizabeth _____, and perhaps removed to Stratford, Ct., as I find the will of Bart. Sears of Monroe, formerly Stratford, filed Jan. 2, 1772; but this may have been a son. He was perhaps a Huguenot emigré."
