Bartholomew Foster of Wallingford, being in his 66th year, signed his will on 26 May 1735. His loving wife Hannah was to have his dwelling lot and barn for her natural life or her widowhood. She was also to have two cows, one horse, six sheep, two swine, and the household goods in his house, a feather bed excepted. His two sons, Timothy Foster and Thomas Foster, were to have his land equally divided between them. Timothy was to have the south part and Thomas the north part of his farm within two years of his death. Two daughters, Mehitable Andrews and Mary Andrews, were each to receive £30. His daughter Ann Peck was to have 5s. If she outlived her present husband, Eleazer Peck, she was to have £10. If Ann died before her husband, the executors were to pay £10 to her two oldest [unnamed] daughters. The witnesses were Theophilus Hall, Benjamin Royce, and Joseph Hall. The first two witnesses appeared when the executors, Timothy Foster and Thomas Foster, presented the will at the Court of Probate at New Haven on 28 November 1740."
