Barbara Faye Wright passed away from this life on Jan. 5, 2015, at the age of 81.
Barbara was born June 28, 1933, in Shawnee to Clyde and Alpha Wright.
Barbara moved from Shawnee to Tulsa in the mid-1950s, and began what turned out to be a long and successful career in the banking industry at First National Bank of Tulsa. Barbara retired as Vice President of Mortgage Loans at First National, now Bank One Trust.
After retirement, she moved to Sun City West, Arizona, to take advantage of the warmer climate. The weather provided ample opportunity to treat herself to her favorite sport of golf year-round. Barbara had only recently returned to Shawnee, desiring to be closer to her family.
Survivors include her sisters Janice Rosenbaum, of Shawnee, Frances Gidney, of Alba, Texas, and Ann Pope, of Tyler, Texas, and brother Tim Wright, also of Shawnee, and her many nieces and nephews. Barbara cherished her friends and Donna Webb and Gloria Vandaveer were considered family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Marcia Dyer and Rosie Crenwelge, and long-time friend Peggy Shaber.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
