Children of Azel Johnson and Rebecca Wilson: "Azel, b. Nov. 27, 1762; m. Aug. 24, 1788, Rebecca Brown of Leicester, at which time he was of Chesterfield, N.H. His military service is given quite fully in Woburn sources of information. He was living in Athens County, Ohio, in 1833, and was a pensioner. His pension claim shows that he served as his father's substitute for three months; again served in 1780; and there were other services."

  4. Azel and sister Amy both have births recorded in 1762, Amy 10 Nov and Azel 27 Nov. This is pretty much impossible, so one appears recorded wrong. Since Azel served in the Revolution at a young age, it is unlikely he was younger than shown and there is not really room in the family to make him older. Also, in handwritten records, his birth is written higher up on the page for 1762, suggesting his is correct, and Amy was born in some year following 1762, but recorded wrong.
