    Byline from The Kokomo Tribune of Tuesday, March 1, 1949: Aubrey L. Hawkins. Aubrey L. Hawkins, professor of English at the University of Michigan for many years, died Monday afternoon at Ann Arbor, Mich., friends here have been notified. Mr. Hawkins spent his boyhood at Russiaville. He was a son of the late Bluford Hawkins and made his home with an aunt, Mrs. Angeline Ratcliff, at Russiaville. His wife preceded him in death. There are no children. The body will be brought to Russiaville with services to be held in the Christian Church there at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Burial will be in the South Union cemetery.
