↑Allred, p. 185, indicates that this Asa Melendy is the one who married in 1812 Sally Moore. Clearly this is wrong as he would have been 7 at the time of marriage. The 1850 census (lines 41-42) show the husband of Sally Moore was born about 1781, and was still alive in 1850. This is the uncle Asa of this Asa (see for example, Source:Windham, Vermont, United States. Gazetteer and Business Directory of Windham County, Vt., 1724-1884, p. 210). No death record in 1834 of any Asa Melendy has been located. It is suspected this is an editing error by Allred for Polly (Melendy) Moore who she also says died 1 Dec 1834 (but note that Allred grossly misidentifies her based on assuming the wrong husband, even though the gravestone names the correct husband showing her to be wrong).
