  2.   The marriage record to Ann Gage indicates that Asa, s/o Asa and Tirzah Foskit, is a widower. Find A Grave gives him two previous marriages, Sarah Puffer and Adaline King. The marriage to Sarah Puffer occurs in 1832 (Brimfield VRs) and she died in 1842 (according to Find a Grave and Descendants of George Puffer. The marriage to Adaline King occurs in 1842 (Brimfield VRs). No record of the death of Adaline or Sarah has been found, and no gravestone images are shown on Find A Grave.
There are three marriages for Asa Foskit in Brimfield. On top of this, there is a marriage of Asa Foskit of Monson in 1833 to Ruby Stebbins, which appears to be Asa's father remarrying after his mother Tirzah died. His gravestone shows he died 1842. Her gravestone suggests she lived until 1850, so it would appear none of these Brimfield marriages were the father.
The Brimfield marriage to Sarah Puffer in 1732 is with Asa Jr. "of Brimfield". The marriage to Mary Collins of Springfield in 1840 is also to Asa Jr. of Brimfield. The marriage to Adaline King of Wales in Brimfield 1842 is simply to Asa Foskit.
The lack of precise death dates, gravestones or death record for Sarah (Puffer) Foskit is somewhat worrisome. It could well be that her death was based on the marriage to Adaline King, i.e., an estimate based on an assumption, hence, not representing any facts. But the records can be equally well be interpreted as a single person marrying all three women, with Ann Gage as his fourth wife. Alternatively, perhaps there was another Asa Foskit and some of these marriages are his?
Descendants of George Puffer, p. 181, says that Asa Fosket and Sarah Puffer had a son Henry who had appointed as a guardian in 1848 George Puffer, which given this Asa's death in 1846, suggests he probably was the one who married Sarah Puffer, but whether he married Adaline King or Mary Collins, or both, or neither, is unknown.
