Arthur Johns Wallis moved to Covington Louisiana after his marriage in 1846 and returned to Kent County MD about 1850. He served in the Union Army as a Lt. in Smiths Independent Calvary, a unit of older men for guard duty between 29 Feb 1862 and 27 Oct 1863. 1860 census list an Arthur J Wallis as living in the Galena Election Dist. 1870 census indicates his real estate to be worth $14,500 and personal $2500.

Arthur John Wallis inherated the farm Darnal's Farm from Mary M Mason.
