Lee Van Horn, 70, carpenter by trade and a Milton resident since 1923, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday in his home, 519 Madison avenue. Born March 27, 1877 at Beaver Dam, Kans., Mr. Van Horn was one of thirteen children born to Arthur Van Horn and Nancy Janes Davis Van Horn. He spent his youth in Garwin and Welton, Ia., and was married to Hattie Ashley Sept. 16, 1902. They lived in Boulder, Colo., until 1911, when they returned to Iowa where they lived until moving to Milton.
Mr. Van Horn was baptized in Welton, Ia., church when he was 12 and was still a member of that church when it disbanded. He was also a member of Milton lodge, I.O.O.F.
Surviving are his wife, three sons, Nelson, LaCrosse; Arthur and Wesley Van Horn both of Janesville; a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Davis, Spokane, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lee Gard, Bridger, Mont.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon in Milton Seventh Day Baptist church, Pres. Carroll L. Hill, of Milton, officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Robert Cary, Lawrence Godfrey, Eddie Quaerna, Julius Nelson, Marion Roberts, and John Werfal.
