The cover of "Heartbreak Ridge" mentions: Arned L. Hinshaw's military career spanned 41 years, both active and reserve. He graduated from the Infantry School, Fort Benning, Georgia. He has served in almost every command or staff level from a squad to the Pentagon and has held every military rank - except Master Sergeant - from Private to Colonel.
