Will Abstract
- Will of Arjalon Price of the parish of St. Thomas in the County of Orange.
- I Give and Bequeath in manner and form as Followeth, Viz.:
- Item I lend to my Loving wife Joyce Price my Two Negroes Nan & Will and my Mulatto Woman Mary McIntash as also I Lend my said Wife my Tract of Land at the Old Office, to her During her natural Life also it is my Will that my Executors hereafter named do Immediately after my Decease have Built for my said wife on the aforesaid Land a good dwelling house Twenty feet long and sixteen feet wide a Smoke house Eight Feet square and a milk house Twelve feet Long and Eight feet wide and it is my Will and Desire that my sd. Wife Live on my now Dwelling Plantation Until the above Buildings are Compleated and Finished.
- Item I give and bequeath unto my Son William Price my Negro Wench named Terda now in his Possession, one Cow and Calf, one two year old Steer and four head of Hoggs sarted? to him and his heirs.
- Item I give & Bequeath unto my six grand Children Vizt. Travers, Wm., Caty, Mary, Tompk.., and Betty Crump Children of my Daughter Mary Crump Deced. the following Negroes Vizt.: Nan, Timmy, Jack, Sarah and Moses, now in their Father's Possession and their increase to be Equally divided Between them as soon as my grand Daughter Betty Crump Arrives to sixteen years of age or day of a Marriage to them and their heirs.
- Item I give and bequeath unto my Two Sons Arjalon Price and John Price the Tract of Land I now live on to be Equally Divided Between Them to them and their heirs forever.
- Item It is also my Desire that half an Acre of this sd. Land be not sold but kept for a Burying Place for my Family.
- Item I give and Bequeath unto my grand son John Hill Price my negro wench Sarah to him and his heirs.
- Item I give and Bequeath unto my grand son Arjalon Price one Negro man named Will after my Wifes Decease to him and his heirs.
- Item I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Eliza. Green one Gold Ring of Fifteen Shillings Value with this Pasey? (In Christ and the my comfort be) (AP) to her and her heirs.
- Item it is my earnest Will and Desire that the negroes Vizt: Tenar, Seb, Tom and Harry which I lent to my Daughter Eliza. Green & since sold by her husband to one David Henning be by my Exeors. Immediately Demanded and Taken into their Possession and if the sd. David Henning should refuse to Deliver up the sd. Negroes to my said Executors when Demanded that then it is my Desire that my Exors. should bring suit for them and when recovered I desire my Executors may keep the sd. Negroes in their Possession During my sd. Daughter Eliz. Green's Life and that they apply the Profits of their Labour as they think Proper towards the support and maintainance of my said Daughter and her Children and after my sd. Daughters Decease it is my Will and Desire that the said Negroes Tenar, Seb, Tom and Harry and their Increase be Equally Divided Between the Children of my said Daughter Elizabeth Green and Their heirs.
- Item I give and Bequeath unto my son John Price one Negro man named London, now in his Possession to him and his heirs forever, also I give unto my said son John Price my Mulatto woman named Mary McIntosh after my Wife's Decease to him and his heirs.
- Item I give and Bequeath unto my son Richard Price my two Negroes George and Sall and my Negro child named Daniel also that Part of my land at the Old Office after my Wifes Death Lying on the south side of the main Road leading to Fredericksburg also one young Mare commonly called heis? to him and the heirs of his Body Lawfully Begotten for ever and for want of such heirs of his Body Lawfully Begotten as aforesaid then it is my Will and Desire that the sd. Land, Negroes and the Rest of his Estate of What nature or kind so ever be Equally Divided among all my Children to them and their heirs.
- Item I give unto my said son Richard Price after his Mothers Death my Negro Wench named Nan to him and his heirs.
- Item I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Catherine Moore my three negroes Adam, Rose & Sibby, one Cow and Calf, one two year old Steer and the Remainder Part of my Old Office Lane lying on the North side of the Road leading to Fredericksburg next to Edward Watts to her and her heirs forever.
- Item it is my Will and Desire that all the residue & remainder of my Estate of what nature or kind soever be Equally Devided Between my Loving Wife, my son Arjalon Price, my son John Price, and my son Richard Price to them & their heirs forever.
- Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my Loving Wife Joyce Price Executrix, my son Arjalon Price and my son John Price Executors of this my Last Will and Testament revoking and making Void all former and other Will or Wills heretofore by me made.
- In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 29th day of April one Thousand seven Hundred and Seventy three.

- Signed sealed and Acknowledged to be my Last Will and Testament in the Presence of:
- Caleb Seson?, John Bourn, George Tesfon?
- At a Court held for Orange County on Thursday the 23d. of September 1773.
- This Last Will and Testament of Arjalon Price Deced being Presented into Court by Joyce Price Executrix of Arjalon Price and John Price Exors. therein named and Proved by the Oaths of Caleb Sesron?, John Bourn and George Sefron?, Witnesses thereto and Ordered to be Recorded and on the motion of the said Executors who made Oath According to Law, Certificate is granted them, for Obtaining Probate thereof in due form whereupon Joyce Price and Arjalon Price with Caleb Sesron [Sisson?] and Reuben Moore their Securities also John Price with Joseph Spencer and Uriel Mallory his Securities Entered into & Aknowledged their Bonds for the Same and Ordered that Wm. Price their heir at Law be Summoned to the next Court to make Objections to this sd. Will of any he has.
