Archie Burress BENTONVILLE -Archie Burress, 70,of Bentonville died May 7, 2002,at his home.He was born Jan.7,1932,in Granby,Mo.,to Tom and Grace Benintendi Burress.He was a pastor for many years in- cluding at Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church,Verdella Free Will Baptist Church,Carterville Free Will Baptist Church,Webb City West Side Fundamental,Corsi- cana Evangel Temple,Spearman Union Church and Seneca Full Gospel Church.He served as pas- tor for Wayside Chapel in Ben- tonville from 1965 to 1973 and again from 1985 to 1991.He was a member of Full Gospel Evange- listic Association,the Rotary Club and served on the board of the Tri-State Camp.He was a former employee of Wal-Mart for near- ly 10 years.He and his wife served Gateway Chapel as their radio ministers for eight years.On Sept. 12,1999,the mayor of Bentonville declared that day as Archie and Patsy Burress Day in Bentonville. Survivors include his wife,Pat Burress;two sons,Jeff Burress and wife Rhonda of Shawnee,Okla., and Richard Burress and wife Bet- ty of Pea Ridge;one daughter,Sue Fiel and husband Danny of Cheyenne,Wyo.;two sisters,Oma Grace Hicks of Granby and Etta Sue Nichols of Rogers;nine grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m.Fri- day at God 's Lighthouse Church in Bentonville with the Rev.Mark Short officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m.in Gran- by (Mo.)Cemetery.
