  1.   I have been trying to find out all that I could about Archibald and who his parents might be. Through all of my research I have noticed that there has always been a connection to certain people and the outcome of many findings are based on those connections. This is what I have to this point: 1805 GA Land Lottery Grantees were Jesse Badget, Abraham Baggett, & Thomas Baggett. 1807 Grantees were Nicholas Baggett and Thomas Baggett. 1821 James Baggett (Orps) their residence was Wilkinson Co. and their draw was Henry Co. In 1823 Archibald Baggett (spelled Badgett) married Nancy Mott (spelled Matt) in Wilkinson Co., GA. {Is Archibald related to James and if so how?} 1827 GA land lottery Troup County -- Archibald Baggott of Newton County also Cowetta County – Joel Baggett of Jones County. 1830 Census Coweta County Census Pg. 374 – Archibald Baggett has males: 1-0/5, 1-5/10, 1-20/30; females 1-0/5, 1-20/30. This means that there are three additional children in the family that are at this point unknown. In 1837 Archibald, Joel & Silas Baggett all owned land in Sumter County, AL. I believe that there are two different Silas Baggett that have two different pieces of property. One Silas is in Township 16-North Range 3 West (St. Stephens) ID # 5595 &5596 Sections 24 NW & 24 SW issued 3-20-1837. The other Silas is in Township 16-North Range 2-West (St. Stephens) # 5884 & 5883 Sections 21 W~SW & 20 E~SE issued 3-15-1837 & 3-20-1837. As for Archibald, he is in Township 16-North Range 2-West (St. Stephens) ID # 5671 & 5672 Sections 18 NENE & 18 SESE issued on 3-30-1837. Then there is Joel Baggett Jr. who was in Section 29 16N & 1W issued 5-15-1837 ID# 9550, his wife Jane Breland Baggett died there about 1841 and according to records his son John Baggett married there on 7 January 1839, along with his daughter Margaret Baggett to Joseph R. Pyle on 20 Dec 1837. Other marriages were: Jesse Baggett to Sarah Rice on 23 Oct 1845; Silas Baggett to Phoebe Williams on 30 Mar 1837. This Silas is one of the land owners. I found an 1840 Census for a A.S. Baggett and I thought at first that it didn’t match but wrote it down but not where it was but I thought that I found it in Sumter Co., AL now I have been unable to relocate it when I realized that it might actually match. This is what Archibald’s family might actually be:
    1830 Census: 1840 Census 1850 Census
    Male: 1- 20/30 (b. 1800-1810) Archibald 1- 30/40

    Son #5: Calvin Monroe (b. 1843) 7 in 1850
    26 in 1870
It has bothered me that the one bible record stated that Archibald died in 1841 so it is possible since Calvin was born in 1843 that son # 4 was also Archibald. We know that Archibald died before 1850 because Nancy is in Marion Co., GA. It is possible that her older boys were left in the care of other family members. In the 1850 Neshoba Co., MS Census where Nancy and her family end up in 1870 there are some interesting families like A.L. Ingram whose wife Martha might be a daughter with younger brother Silas Baggett living with them. She later names one of her own sons Silas. Lettice Poole must be related to Archibald Baggett’s or Nancy Mott’s families. Daughter # 3 and # 4 Ann are so far lost. These are the facts with my opinions. Anyone that has anything that could help I would love to get together and compare.
