July 25, 1943 - February 7, 2023
Surrounded by the love of his family, Antonius (Tony) Wilhelmus Bax passed away peacefully on February 7, 2023 in his 80th year. Loving husband of 51 years to Marilyn (nee Watson) Bax. Devoted and proud father to Rhonda (Sam) Boyd, Michael (Brooke) Bax, Steven (Elanna) Bax, Angela (Michael) Porkolab, and Matthew (Selena) Bax. Tony will be missed dearly by his grandchildren Melanie Thuss and her partner Peter, Rya Smith, Tyson Smith and his partner Samantha and their family; Izabella, Caden and Gabriella, Ronan and Danika Bax, Levi and Cash Bax, Lily and Josh Porkolab, Elexis and Lucas Bax. Loved Brother and Brother in Law of Frank (Marie) Bax, Casey Bax, Adriana Soetemans, John (Paula) Bax, Pete Bax, Jeannie Bergey, Louis (Annie) Bax, Dave (Sheila) Watson and Bonnie Watson. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Joanna (nee Vermeer), stepmother Maria (nee Willemse), father Adrianus Bax, in laws Roy and Evelyn Watson, brother Joe Bax, brothers in law Lyle Bergey and Steve Soetemans and grandson Beau Bax.
Tony was born in Poppel Belgium and came to Canada in 1953. As a young child Tony moved into the Parkhill community and then met Marilyn, they married in July of 1971 and quickly started their family of five children. Tony was a huge Toronto Maple Leaf fan and his hockey passion was not only watching but coaching North Middlesex Minor Hockey for decades. Tony also was the equipment manager for North Middlesex Junior D Hockey Organization. In later years he loved to watch his grandchildren play hockey and other minor sports.
Visitation will be held on February 10, 2023 at 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at on February 11, 2023 at 11am at Sacred Heart Church, Parkhill.
