    [Note: the comment about Annis being Martha's sister is wrong. It is in the original typescript, p. 8. But it looks like information intended to go with Annis' second husband John Stevens was typed in the entry for her first husband Benjamin, or else it was an early hypothesis that should have been removed. In any event, it was not consistently represented throughout the document. The wife of Joshua is not shown as Martha Phelps, rather as Joshua's cousin Martha Stevens, nor in the Phelps Family of Andover, p. 4-5, does the same author even show a daughter Martha. The preparation for publication cleaned up one error about Annis Phelps being a widow, but missed this one.]
