FALSE CANDIDATE BIRTH IDENTITIES FOR ANNICKA LARSDOTTER BORN IN SEGERSTAD PARISH: Anna Britta, b 26 Sept 1782, bap 27, parents Lars Goldgren/Fallgren and Maja -- not Sigrid as given at Annicka's marriage! Anicka, b 4 March 1784, parents Lars and Bolla, also not Sigrid!

Many of the desirable sticky facts are neutral. Neither mother is obviously equivalent to the Sigrid named as Lars's wife at Annika's wedding 1805. Neither candidate corresponds to the very specific birth date 23 June 1783 given in the Broddetorp husför circa 1810. I don't see anything, glancing over the witnesses to Annika and Jonas's children, that favors either candidate.

The bulk of the dates for Annika in later life would tend to favor the earlier-born candidate.

The consistent use of "Annika" would favor the later-born candidate, but I don't have a feel for just how interchangeable Annicka and Anna Brita might be. On the face of it they seem pretty interchangeable.

14 SEP 2004 UPDATE. Baptismal records of Johannes (1/2 Dec 1777, page 183 Segerstad baptisms 1688-1797, FHL #154749) and Isaac (6 Feb 1774, page 177) show that they are Anna Brita's siblings and children of Lars Falgren and Maria Isaacsdotter. Death records (Segerstead 1798-1852, page 263) show Anna Brita, daughter of Lars Fahlgren and Maria Isaksdr. dying 9 Dec 1810 at the age of 28. So she cannot have been the wife of Jonas Person.

Household examinations examined by Rick Henderson 26 Sep 2004 reveal that the daughter of Lars and Bolla was still at home as late as 1812, and may have married a widower that year.

    4 March 1784 birth,.
  11. The Broddetorp household examination where Annicka's birth date 23 Jun 1783 states that she was born in Segerstad. No such person is recorded at or near that time -- the only two possibilities (see below) have been eliminated. Hence she was probably born elsewhere, one hopes nearby.

Two women born plausibly close to this time have been proven not to have married Jonas Persson: Anna Britta Larsdotter 26 Sept 1782 died probably unmarried, and Annicka Larsdotter 4 Mar 1784 was still at home until 1812 or 1814, and may well have married the widower Samuel Johanssen in 1812.

An Annicka Larsdotter dies 16 Jan 1841 in Segerstad, at age 57-6-23, which corresponds within one day to the date Jonas's wife gave in one Household examination.

    Age evidence for grownup Annika:

    21 on 22 Feb 1805 (marriage) = born between 23 Feb 1783 and 22 Feb 1784

    22 on 9 July 1805 (birth of first Sven) = born between 10 July 1782 and 9 July 1783

    23 on 12 Nov. 1806 (birth of second Sven) = born between 13 Nov 1782 and 12 Nov 1783

Early 1800s Broddetorp husför gives 23 Jun 1783.

    33 on 3 Feb. 1816 (birth of first Maria) = born between 4 Feb 1782 and 3 Feb 1783

    36 or 38 on 11 May 1821 = likely born between 12 May 1782 and 11 May 1783 or 1785

(61y 10m 21d on 10 June 1844 = born 14 July 1782, but this may not be the wife of Jonas Persson!)

Together these imply a birth date as early as 4 Feb. 1782 or as late as 11 May 1785.
