Richardson gives her name as Elizabeth Mainwaring, daughter of William Mainwaring. He does not comment on the fact that her name has been given as Anne in earlier publications, and it is not clear whether he has sources giving her name as Elizabeth, or this is simply an error.

Of the five sources cited for this family, the first two (Visitation of Shropshire and Bulkeley Ancestry give her name as Anne, and the third (TAG 35:100-106) does not mention her (but does mention a different Elizabeth, a possible source of error). The other two sources (English Wills of Colonial Families and Blackmans of Knight's Creek) seem to be cited for other reasons (evidence of there being two daughters named Anne in this family and the Charlton arms).
