    Anna Margaretha Schmidt was born in the year of 1717 in Europe, Stein, Switzerland, and died September 19th, 1793 in West Manchester Township, York County, Pennsylvania. Anna was the daughter of Killian Schmidt and Catherina Frey.

    Anna married Johann Philip Ziegler (1714-1800) on November 21, 1737 in Christs Church, York County, Pennsylvania. Johann immigrated from Germany in 1727, and was the son of George Philip Ziegler (1677-1756) and Anna Mayer.

    A grant was patented, Oct. 23, 1767, to Philip Ziegler, Jr., Anna's husband.

    Anna's sisters were Anna Marie Schmidt, who married Andrew Nebinger, and Maria Agnes Schmidt, who married Peter Wolf. Anna's brother-in-law Peter has a Rev. memorial in Bott's Cem.
