    Children of Francis Bowman [#2] and Martha Sherman: 7) Anna, b. 19 Sep 1676, d. 26 Sep 1701 [sic].
[Note: Hudson adds in parentheses that Anna was baptized 14 Sep 1701, a record of which is found p. 6 of Lexington VRs. Clearly he is assuming this is an adult baptism, and therefore, that the year in the death record cited above, is incorrect while accepting the rest of the date as valid. However, it remains possible that the baptism is a daughter of the son Francis. The use of the name by the son to honor a recently deceased sibling, soon after the sibling's death, would not be unusual. Also, Hudson must have struggled with the sparse records for the son's family, and appears to have already confused the son's daughter Martha as belonging to the father.]
