↑ While the census records and her death record imply she was born about 1781, if she was the mother of Mary, baptized in 1835, she was very likely born a bit later than that. It was fairly common for the ages of older adults to be exaggerated, and even her son William's age (31) is slightly exaggerated in the 1851 census.

Alternately, Mary could have been the illegitimate child of one of her daughters, passed off as her daughter for baptism.
