Ann Barr was baptised on 3rd March 1799 at Redbourn in Hertfordshire, daughter of John and Ann Barr.

On 31st January 1818, aged eighteen, she was married in the nearby town of Luton to Samuel Bent, who variously worked as an agricultural labourer and straw plait dealer. They had five children together, all baptised at Luton between 1819 and 1827.

Ann died at the age of 28, being buried at Luton on 9th November 1827. Samuel outlived her by over 35 years, and remarried in 1828.

    This baptism has been linked to the Ann Barr who married Samuel Bent on the basis that it is in the parish in which Ann was living at the time of her marriage, and at about the time implied by the age quote at her death.
