Source: According to Angie H. Beck Family Records 29 March 1906 "Miss Angie Beck and Hugo (Hugh, sp.) Barnes were united in marriage at noon Wednesday in the Trinity cathedral. Dean W.S . Trowbridge performed the ceremony. There were no attendants." "Mrs. Barnes is a very estimable young lady and is popular with a large circle of friends. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Beck, who reside four and a half miles east of the city . Mr. Barnes is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Barnes, who live but a few miles from New Buffalo . He is a fine type of young manhood, being industrious and of a disposition that makes friends readily. Mr. Barnes is a farmer and he and his bride have gone to housekeeping on the farm three and a half miles southwest of New Buffalo." "Among the out of town people in attendance at the event were Mrs. Helen Bowen, of Cedar Falls, Ia., and Miss Grace Beck, of Americus, Ga. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Barnes will join The News Dispatch in wishing them abundant happiness in their wedded life." Source: "The News Dispatch", newspaper social events, Michigan City, IN, 12 July 1916. Mrs. Angie Barnes, 64, M.R. Box 11, Brinkman Addition died at 10 p.m. Saturday in St. Anthony Hospital. She had been ill one month. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Hummer-White Mortuary with the Rev. Robert E. Schrack Rector of St. Andrews-by-the-Lake Episcopal church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary this evening and tomorrow until the hour of the service. Mrs. Barnes was born in Muskegon Heights Sept. 27, 1893, the daughter of Erwin and Hattie Miles Beck. On July 12, 1916, she was married here to Hugh O. Barnes, who survives.
