Per letter from Blanche Hogan (original in files of Dennis A. Hogan):
Mother and Dad (John and Mary) would get a talking about their folks and one would say your folks came from County Mayo and the other said your folks came from where the ducks went bare footed (probably County Cork) which one is which I don't know.
...
Grandpa and Grandma O'Shaughnessy lived near Littleville (?) for a while then moved over on the Powell road that road that goes west between Ethel Powell's and Turner's (Town of Gorham, Ontario Co., NY). They lived there quite a while I think Grandpa passed away first he is buried at Calvary Cemetery (Canandaigua, Ontario Co., NY). Grandma wasn't very well Aunt Ella took her up to her place (Rochester, Monroe Co, NY) and took care of her. She is buried in Rochester. Grandma O'Shaughnessy Maiden name was Keaveny. I can't remember was Grandma Hogan maiden name was.
...
Grandma O'Shaughnessy and her sister when they came over the sister was taken sick and Grandma was so worried for fear she would die and they would have to throw over board but she lived. For more from this letter, see Text under Michael Hogan
