- Rockbridge County, VA Will Book 15, pp. 297-298.
- Andrew Hayslett's Will.
- To son Cpt. Henry Hayslett, farm at headwaters of Kerrs Creek that was willed to my wife, Molly Hayslett, by her father Henry Armintrout.
- To Daughter Martha Taylor, home place, but she must give Henry Hayslett her interest in the above mentioned farm.
- To daughter Elizabeth Black, farm known as McKenry place and farm adjoining the same which I purchased from Robert Hayslett. She must give Henry Hayslett her interest in Armintrout farm.
- To son John Hayslett, 1 negro man named Caleb and his wife Eliza and their children Margaret, Jane and Andrew Jackson and money already given to him, same condition as daughters.
- All personal property and negro man named Caesar and negro woman Charlotte to be apprasied and sold.
- Money to be equally divided among my three children Henry Hayslett, Martha Taylor, and Elizabeth Black.
- Made 21 May 1856 Proven 7 March 1859
