I am grateful to all that answered my questions concerning the Cashon family. Colleen Taylor expressed an interest in the Cashon-Winstead Bible and I have been looking through my files for the copy I have had for several years. I also have a copy of the John Franklin & Virginia (Stow) Cashon Bible which includes some misc. notes about A. J. and Frances Cashon. Andrew Jackson Cashon was the brother of my ancestor Pleasant Cashon. They were sons of Pleasant and Cynthis (Almerry) Cashon; grandsons of David Cashon.

A Bible Record copied by Mrs. David Cashon in a letter dated Sept. 30, 1912 from Mitchell, South Dakota:

"Grandfather Jackson Cashon was born April 26, 1782; died April 23, 1872, of Irish descent. Grandmother Cashon born Dec. 2, 1782; died July 28, 1856. She was Cynthia Almery (Almary, Almerry) Her mother was Sarah Gracy, all from Scotland. Grandfather Winstead born 1788; d. Feb 1872. Grandmother Winstead b. 1790 d. July 23, 1853. She was Mary Rice of English descent."

"A. J. Cashon b. May 14, 1815 d. Aug 17, 1904. Frances Cashon b. Jan. 31, 1817; d. Oct 8, 1881. She was Frances Winstead. Grandfather Cashon (David) was married four times, his last children by his last wife. My grandfather, oldest of the first set, was named Pleasant. His father was David."
