PUTNAM, Ama, w. Abner, [died] Nov. 7, 1834, a. 56. [Note: birth about 1778.]
↑Source:Putnam, Eben. History of the Putnam Family in England and America : Recording the Ancestry and Descendants of John Putnam of Danvers, Mass., Jan, p. 267 gives a birth date for Amy of 7 Oct 1779, but no such birth record is found, and the basis is not known. Putnam also shows Abner m. Anne Amy m. Abner without realizing both refer to the same couple, one misreading the wife's name as Anne instead of Ame. The quitclaim found in the father's probate, mentions Abner Putnam of Sutton yeoman & Ame his wife. If Abner was a heir his wife wouldn't be named, so Ame is the heir in this couple and if there was a son named Abner, there would need to be another Abner named. Abner is only a son-in-law, the husband of Ame, there is no son named Abner.
