    Amy B. Covell of Kalamazoo, passed away Wednesday July 6, 2016 at home. Amy was born June 14, 1936 in Athens, AL; the daughter of Henry and Ida Bell (Croly) Haggard.

    She retired from Dairy Queen after 35 years. She enjoyed karaoke, singing, bingo, traveling and bowling.

    She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Covell; three sisters, Aladine, Mary, Maude.

    She is survived by five sons, Bob Byars of West Olive, Wayne (Kim) Byars of Kalamazoo, Kenny Byars of Kalamazoo, Vern (Regina) Covell of Mattawan, Henry (Becky) Covell of Parchment; two daughters, Diane (Scott) Screptock of Holland, Teresa (Tom) Hayes of Willmar, MN; brother, Frank Haggard of Florida; numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren; nieces & nephews.

    Friends are being received 3-6 pm Saturday July 9, 2016 at Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008 (269) 343-6156. Graveside services will be held Wednesday July 13, 2016 at 3:30 pm at Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. Memorial contributions may be made to West Michigan Cancer Center. www.redmondfuneralhomes.net
