- ↑ Amos is named as the second son in his father's will of 1814. This would place his birth about 1777. There is an Amos Wheeler who died age 81 on 2 Mar 1858 in Watertown, his birthplace specified as Concord, and birth working out to about 1777, who would appears to be a possible candidate. This Amos of Watertown also appears in the 1855 Massachusetts State census with a wife Eliza (family 221), and might possibly be the Amos Wheeler of Boston who m. 1801 Mary Downing of Waltham, and then of Watertown who m. 1841 Elizabeth Sherman of Waltham, if all those events happen to be the same person.
