"... [in 1784] ... Amos and David Stafford settled on two lots on Whallon's bay." Property records indicate the sale of 100 acres to Amos Stafford was executed in 1788.

Adults are a match for Amos and Hannah. Young males match expected family members, but there is one extra female who is too old.

  9. Essex, New York, United States. 1820 U.S. Census Population Schedule
    Roll 69, Page 411.

The 1820 census lists only one Amos Stafford family in Essex county or thereabouts. But the family has a young male (5-10) and female (<5) and that does not match what we know about the Amos Stafford family. These could be children of son Silas. No one Silas age is recorded, but a female who could be his wife is listed. Possibly Silas was absent for an extended period.
