Vol 55 (1906):104-105 [ MRS. JULIA MEEK GAAR. 54245] … Amos Morris (1726-1801) was surprised by a band of Tories, 1779, taken from his bed at night, and not paroled until 1780. His home was burned, cider and salt buildings were destroyed by the enemy. He was born and died at Morris Point.
