Probably named after Ammi Ruhamah Corlet, [per Source:Cambridge Historical Society. Proceedings, Vol. 2, p. 16:] son of Elijah Corlet whose wife Barbara was probably a sister of Richard Cutter.

    Ammi Ruhamah Cutter, bp. Cambridge 6 May 1705,d. at Louisbourg Mar 1746 where he had remained as chief commandant of the captured fortress, m. bef. 1735 Dorothy Bradbury. He graduated Harvard 1725, became first minister of North Yarmouth, Maine in 1729, removed 1735 ["Mr. Cutter gave great offence by his rank arminianism"], continued as a physician in the same town. He was a captain of a company in Col. Jeremiah Moulton's regiment in the expedition against Louisbourg.
