↑ According to wikipedia, Amittai is a male name, father of the Prophet Jonah. But the birth record clearly says daughter. Presumably the name is susceptible to be represented as Amity in literature and on websites. Allred, p. 18, knows nothing besides the birth date and says (or asks?) "Could be Ann Maria or Maria Ball" [the latter only known from intentions published 1803 to Simeon Walcot]. No further record of her (or him) has yet been located, though some AFNs give various scenarios that have yet to be substantiated.
