Last rites for Alvin Curtis Lyons, 46 of Lake Charles were to beheld at 2:30 pm today in the Hixson funeral home chapel here with Dr Paul Roberts, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial ws to be in the Orange Grove cemetery. Mr. Lyons who had been in ill health for a number of years died Thursday in a hospital at Kerville, Texas. He was born in Sulphur, but was reared in this city and attended Lake Charles high school. He was employed for a number of years by Gulf State Utilities company here, then worked with the York Oil Field Supply company. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served for four years as an electrician's mate. He was the son of Mrs. Maude Wetherill Lyons of Lake Charles and the late D.C. Lyons of this city. Mr. Lyons was a member of Lake Charles chapter No. 17, Disabled American Veterans and of Harveson Arnold Post 2436, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Besides his mother, he is survived by a sister, Miss Jessie Mae Lyons ofTexas City, Texas.
