Livermore Falls, Androscoggin, Maine, United StatesLIVERMORE FALLS--Two Livermore Falls boys, both about 10 years of age and cousins, were struck and seriously injured Monday evening by an automobile which failed to stop after the accident. Merle Buck Jr., son of Mrs. Eldora Buck recieved a fractured right femur, scalp lacerations and concussion, while his cousin, Alton Buck Jr., sustained a deep scalp laceration and multiple bruises. Neither of the boys was critically hurt according to Deputy Sheriff Alfred J. Laroche who investigated about 8 p.m.
The accident occurred about 8 p.m. on Park street on the outskirts of the village. Deputy Laroche immediately communicated with State Trooper Rexford St. Ledger at Winthrop who began a search for the fleeing car. The machine was described by the deputy as being a light brown sedan, either a Buick or a Pontiac. He said there were thought to have been two people on the front seat and another in the rear.
Both lads were given first aid by Dr. Harlold Pratt of Livermore Falls.
Merle was taken to the CMG hospital in Lewiston by ambulance. |
