1 NOTE Jeannette says they used to live on Quebec St in the Orchard before moving to Bennington when she was 10 years old (roughly 1924). She says after the war (WWII) all of the boys came back and built houses close to each other and it was calledGauthier village.Meme and Pepe went to vist them in Bennington with Bill Alexander who was interested in one of the girls, this would have been after Meme and Pepe married in 1939. Jeannette's mother Bertha and her sister Louise visited them aswell but Jeannette never made it up there to see them. Although she says folks from the bus company who stayed at the Hotel Charles where she worked often offered to give her a free ride up to Vermont. She says whenever she was about to make thetrip someone in the family died or some other event. Interview 3/30/1999.
