'The descent of the manor of Cubbington Grange was as follows: Richard Fawkenor, (my [not clear who this refers to] records say the name was Thomas), acquired the manor & when he died in 1558, his heir was his daughter, Alice, then aged 10. In 1564, it was in the hands of Benedict Shuckburgh whom she married (at age 16?).'
