    KRATZ, Alfred Jacob, age 63, of Route 3, city, passed away at a local hospital, Tuesday, May 16, (1950) following a lingering illness. Mr. Kratz had been a resident of this vicinity for the past 41 years. He was a retired engineer of the Kulshan building, having worked there for the past 22 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Knights of Pythias and the Ninety-Nine Men's Club. Surviving relatives include his wife, Alfreda Kate, at home; a step-son, George W. Smith, of Bellingham; five step-grandchildren, Gary, Grant, Christa, Glen and George Smith, all of Bellingham; two brothers, Arthur W. Kratz of Bellingham, and Phillip G. Kratz, of Cresco, Iowa; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home, Saturday, May 20, at 1:30 p. m. with the Revs. Dr. A. Paul Dougherty and Ray S. Wagoner, of the First Christian Church, officiating, followed by ritualistic services of the Knights of Pythias. Interment in Greenacres Memorial Park.
